The Merrick Library has been serving Merrick, NY, on Long Island’s South Shore, since 1891.

We are a public library chartered by the State University of New York to serve all residents of the Merrick Union Free School District. We provide free-of-charge books and other materials, literacy instruction, research and support, lectures and other educational programming, technology training, career development, entertainment, community meeting and gathering space, and other services supporting our mission of lifelong learning and community empowerment.

Trustees are elected to serve a five-year term by the registered voters of the Merrick Union Free School District.
